Club “SUP TIRED” is a gathering place for people who are passionate about water sports; Together with the awareness of environmental protection, they pioneered collecting garbage in the Rach Chiec river section of Thu Duc City.

Truong Sanh Cuong, founder of the “SUP MATURE” club shared: “From my passion for playing water sports, specifically SUP rowing, I am very aware of the pollution of rivers. Rowing SUP witnessed people standing on the bank casually throwing rubbish into the river, losing the landscape, making me very uncomfortable, and decided to invite my brothers to carry out garbage collection activities.

Currently, the club "SUP TIRED" has more than 20 members, along with the people who will row SUP and collect trash on the Rach Chiec River every Saturday. All participants who come here will be guided and experience SUP paddling for free and safely.

Regarding safety work, when picking up trash on the SUP, each person is fully equipped with safety equipment according to the regulations of this sport such as life jackets, leg straps, etc. If you come into contact with SUP, you must follow rowing instructions and safety skills before participating in SUP paddling.

Although at first when doing this activity, people around the river area did not care, they took out their phones to film and take pictures. Even called "crazy". But the members of the club "SUP TIRED" still pick up trash every week and don't care about such things. Up to now, the amount of garbage in the Rach Chiec river section has been significantly reduced, and the club has both protected the water environment and has a beautiful yard to play sports.

“I came to know and join the club thanks to the activity of rowing SUP to pick up trash. I find this activity very meaningful, both creating a sports playground for health training and contributing to environmental protection. Every day I go to the river to meet people, for me, it is a happy and energetic day", said Phan Hang, a member of the "SUP MATURE" club excitedly.

Mr. Duong Quang Loi, a member of the environmental protection community shared: "The act of rowing SUP to pick up trash is very creative and useful, parents can join their children to have fun on the weekend and raise awareness. for children. In addition, the action has a direct impact on the people who litter around the river.”

More than just garbage collection…

Talking to Thanh Nien News, Phan Hang said that the club first thought that picking up trash would be the best form of education for people living on the shore or living nearby to stop littering in the river. As for the garbage picked up, it will be sorted and collected, transported to the landfill for processing by the environmental company.

But to be better for the environment, after a period of operation, the members came up with the idea of sorting and treating garbage after picking it up by recycling, increasing the life cycle of garbage with practical products. One of the most suitable ways to recycle is to make ecological bricks. Because when sorting garbage, everyone realizes that the waste is mainly plastic bottles and plastic bags.

Especially to ensure that players do not litter in the river, all water bottles, "SUP TIRED" club items are glass bottles or materials that can be used many times. After returning to the wharf, the player must pay the full amount of the borrowed items, if broken or discharged into the river, they have to pay a very high fee. This fee is a product compensation fee but also a fee for the environment.

Through the meaningful act of picking up trash, the “SUP TIRED” Club wants to spread the message to everyone to protect their living environment.
